Kamden Completes Remarkable Weekend
Kamden and HMS had an unbelievable weekend competing in two separate series. First was the Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Associations Club Race on Saturday May 6th. Kamden got the weekend started off strong with 1st place finishes in both Jr. Animal and Jr. Honda heat races. After starting both features P1, Kamden was able to hold off a tough charging field to complete the sweep of the day with feature wins in both classes.
On Sunday, May 7th, Kamden competed in the Mid-Ohio Series' first race of the season. Once again, Kamden showed strength in the heats finishing at the top in both Jr. Honda and Jr. Animal. This included a last lap pass to take the checkered in the Jr. Animal heat. In the features, Kamden led the first 8-10 laps and was involved in a crash from the 2nd place car attempting to make a pass. This sent him to the back for only a short while. Kamden fought back, almost completing yet another improbable last lap pass for the win. Unfortunately, the track was a bit short and he finished 2nd in Jr. Animal. The Jr. Honda was a different story. Kamden fell back to 4th on the start and systematically worked his way to the front, navigating his way through traffic beautifully. This set Kamden up to complete the day with a 1st place finish in the Jr. Honda class. This was only his 2nd Mid-Ohio Series feature win in his short racing career.
Both cars were extremely fast all weekend and Kamden continued to show maturity on the track and most specifically, while in traffic. Even Kamden's sister, Kadence, was showing her racing skills. Great job to Kamden and everyone at Hibbitt Motorsports.
